Adult Jiu-Jitsu Classes

Program Description

Action Reaction programming is ideal for both new and more advanced students. Our curriculum ensures that newer students will develop a strong foundation in Jiu-Jitsu and understand key concepts. Students will be introduced to core techniques that build fundamental Jiu-Jitsu skills. Students will learn basic Jiu-Jitsu movements, build coordination, and be introduced to basic positions and situations.

More experienced students are encouraged to build on their knowledge of foundational skills to work towards sharpening key movements and are exposed to more technically complicated techniques and strategies. Students advance their game strategy through improving reflexes, reaction time, and transitions between techniques.

Jiu-Jitsu is taught through two different training options:

  • Gi Classes: Students practice in a Gi (Kimono/Uniform). Classes use belt rankings which means you are given belt promotions based on your progress. In grappling, students are able to use the Gi (e.g., sleeves, collar, pant legs) to gain and control positions.

  • No-Gi Classes: Students have the opportunity to learn to adapt Jiu Jitsu techniques to no-Gi situations. This training is ideal for students who want to learn practical techniques that do not depend on the using the Gi; techniques applicable in real-life situations. This style is also used widely in MMA.
